embodied coaching

what is embodied coaching?

We live in a very think-y culture, and our technology often exacerbates this in a way that makes us feel like cardboard cutouts of ourselves. The result is that many people feel disconnected from their truth, their knowing, their bodies, and even their day-to-day experience of their lives.

Embodied coaching is about having an attuned, present and safe therapeutic relationship which teaches you how to reconnect with your deepest self. This fundamental ground of Self is deeper than all the mental chatter and conditioning that comes with “shoulds” and “have-tos”.

“Embodied coaching” is not the name of a specific modality that I trained in, but rather the phrasing that I have come up with to give the best sense of how all my professional credentialing comes together; Namely, my training and certifications as a Rolfer, a Coach through the Co-active Training Institute, and a meditation teacher through the Realization Process. I am also in my advanced year of Somatic Experiencing Training and will soon have my SEP. (I am also a licensed massage therapist, MELT Method instructor, Franklin Method Level 1 Instructor, and SourcePoint Therapy practitioner. So yes, my deep love is the intersection of the body and psyche!).

My training with Somatic Experiencing and the Realization Process in particular have taught me so much about genuine embodied safety and presence and how we can cultivate the ability to beneficially affect that.

My coaching training taught me how to bring in goals in a way that redefines much of what we have come to think of as goal-setting (striving) in our culture.

Being with people in their pain- whether physical or emotional- for 25+ years has taught me more than I could ever convey about the human experience and how beautiful it is, pain and all.

I believe that we get farther faster by slowing down and dropping in. And yet, when we come from that deeply resourced place, our goals can become delightful ways to more wholeheartedly enjoy our lives.

who is it for?

It’s for anyone who may be feeling a little stuck or stagnant and wants to dive into a greater sense of purpose and freedom.

The people who are often drawn to working with me are those who are grieving (whether due to the loss of a loved one or the loss of a cherished identity due to health, career, or stage of life changes), new mothers who are navigating that significant life shift, and entrepreneurs who want support as they chart their own course.

what are your rates?

$150 per session. Sessions are 60 minutes.

how do i schedule a session?

You can use the button below to get to my online booking calendar. If you have not worked with me before, also feel free to email me at hello@merreleydonohue.com with any questions you might have.

Merreley has the best interests of the universe (others) at heart. As much as anyone I’ve worked with in her field, I can feel her wanting to help make my physical existence better. I know I can trust her to do what is in my best interest.
